Basic Claims:
I interviewed 20 kids at random for my research and what I heard didn't really surprise me. There were some outliers for my study that had some bold claims and some who were thoughtful about their remarks.

Starting with the data there where I asked for basic data and found out that...

For people who do recycle. more people recycle at their home

95% of people who do not recycle often would if there were more spots to recycle.

What I learned from students
Most people who recycle recycle paper and often when it is the most convenient for them. When they are near bins they will recycle otherwise they won't go out of their way to try and recycle which is how I feel about recycling as a whole.
The one reason that many people aren't recycling is simply due to it not being accessible for kids. Some people don't want to drive far to recycle which is understandable others use reusable objects which is good for them.
I also asked where they would want there to be recycling cans if they were to recycle and most said near their dorms. Others had more bizarre ideas like one dorm has a trash chute and they thought about a separate chute for recycling.
One of the bold claims I have recorded has preferred their name to be anonymous but, they claim that they don't recycle. They basically say "All the materials throughout the past years that have ever used didn't need to be recycled. It does help when reusing some building materials but its durability decreases drastically. Also, it uses more energy to recycle than to burn."

I see what they are saying that we shouldn't reuse the building materials after they have been built but only some of the materials cost more energy to recycle and that's the plastic for now while the price of oil is down. Metal is extremely worth recycling due to how much effort is needed to produce some metal. You would need to mine, export, extract, then you could burn it which is way longer than re-cast and burn.
